Head of Development

Scottish Mountain Rescue (SMR) are very excited to announce and welcome their new member of staff, Elsie Riley. Elsie will be filling the new role, Head of Development as of 2nd July 2018.

Elsie said, “I am thrilled to be joining Scottish Mountain Rescue as the new Head of Development. As someone who is a keen fell runner, hill walker and climber, I know how important the service that the volunteer teams provide is; ensuring that all those who enjoy the Scottish mountains can do so safe in the knowledge that the mountain rescue teams are there if and when they are needed. I’m really looking forward to using my skills, experience and knowledge to develop fundraising for Scottish Mountain Rescue, an organisation that is so vital for all of us who enjoy spending time in the Scottish hills.”

Elsie will be working closely with the SMR teams, members of staff and Executive Officers. Prior to SMR, Elsie has had many years’ experience in successfully developing organisations.

SMR Chair, Damon Powell said “We are delighted to welcome Elsie to SMR, her role will enable us to ensure that Scotland can maintain its world class voluntary mountain rescue service in the years to come.”

SMR would like to wish Elsie the very best of luck. We all very much look forward to working with her.
