We couldn’t do what we do without your help

It is your support that helps mountain rescue teams to be there for people in need of rescue in the mountains and ultimately saves lives.

Our 800 volunteers respond in a moment’s notice, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide assistance to people in the outdoors. They give up their time, their beds, abandon their work, and are often called away from their families to assist total strangers.

The fact that you are all out helping people in need and hopefully bringing people home to their own families makes it all worthwhile. No matter how experienced you are there is always an element of risk to enjoying the mountains, so being able to help others when things don’t go according to plan is a way of giving back

The mountain rescue teams couldn’t do what they do, without our wider team of supporters, the people in the background who provide the funding that make our work possible!

The teams are all volunteers, but we need funding to support the teams with training, equipment and insurance to be able to provide this life-saving service.

Scotland has some of the most challenging and changeable weather systems anywhere. This coupled with some of the most remote regions in Europe makes it a difficult rescue environment for anyone. Scottish Mountain Rescue teams are on hand 365 days a year, 24 hours a day on a volunteer basis!

Its tough, but we can all make a difference and support the teams. Support comes on many different levels, a very simple but effective way is to make a monthly donation to Scottish Mountain Rescue
