Meet Our Supporters – Niven Easter

Meet our supporters – Scottish Mountain Rescue rely massively on public donations and fundraisers to keep their services running. Over the years they have had some incredible supporters who have set themselves huge challenges.

Niven Easter is a 38-year-old Rope Access Technician from Edinburgh and over the last 40 days has walked the Scottish National Trail taking on the 536 miles, 863,895 steps (ish) from Kirk Yetholm to Cape Wrath, all to raise money for Scottish Mountain Rescue.

Niven said, “Luckily, none of us have ever gotten into a situation in which we’ve needed to make that call yet, but the knowledge that if it does all start to go horribly wrong, a team of volunteers who have never met us before, will drop what they’re doing and potentially risk their own lives to help us out is a seriously comforting though.”

On his last Facebook post Niven said, “Sometimes in life you have a daft idea, and sometimes that daft idea turns in to one of the greatest adventures you can imagine.”
