Individual teams select equipment on the requirements of their terrain and declared capabilities.  Nationally there are distinct advantages to share either common items of equipment or at least to limit the variety in use.

Medical equipment can be ordered through the Medical Officer.  Currently Scottish Ambulance Service funds these purchases and they represent the basic equipment requirements for a Mountain Rescue Team.  Equipment available – Stretcher, Casualty Bag, Medical Supplies including approved drugs.

All other national equipment issues are managed by our Equipment Officer including future stretcher supplies, stretcher maintenance, equipment governance and training equipment.  Contact the Equipment Officer if you require any advice on – new equipment, stretcher maintenance, equipment storage and governance.
