Mountain Rigging (Glenmore Lodge)

Introduction:
Mountain Rescue Team members will gain understanding on how to extract casualties from
steep ground with difficult access and variable terrain presenting a unique set of problems. This
course is aimed at team members who have completed the Rigging Practitioner Course or has
equivalent knowledge and experience of technical rescue systems. The course will focus on
mountain based systems including mid face pick-off and guideline systems.
Course objectives:
By the end of the course, training will have been provided on:
- The options for mid-face pick-off systems (casualty with and without harness
- The options for mid-face pick-off systems (stretcher)
- How to set-up mid-face pick-off systems
- The angle theory for tensioned guideline line systems
- The set up and use of a tensioned guideline systems
