Meet our Supporters – Austin’s 3 Peaks

01st September, 2021

Hi, my name is Austin and I’m 9 months old.  My challenge has been to climb the 3 highest peaks in the UK before I turn one to raise money for Mountain Rescue.  I’ve completed Snowdon & Scafell Pike on my Daddy’s back and I’m planning on completing my third peak the weekend of the 10th September, Ben Nevis!

Having spent most of his life enjoying the mountains across the UK, Austin’s Dad Tom has passed his passion for hillwalking onto Mum Amy and now it seems that Austin is catching the bug too, loving his adventures in the outdoors.

The family are keen to raise as much money as possible for mountain rescue, so that they can help fund vital equipment to enable volunteers to continue to carry out their valuable work.

Their home in Hertfordshire doesn’t offer too much in the way of hills or mountains for training purposes, so Tom and Amy have been keeping fit by running and taking part other sports when time allows, given that they have a lively baby to look after!

Tom and Amy are hoping that this challenge will mark the start of a lifetime of adventures in the mountains for Austin and what an amazing way to start off . . . top 3 UK peaks by the age of one!

Scottish Mountain Rescue, and the 25 teams it represents across Scotland, would like to thank Austin, Amy and Tom for coming up with their inspired challenge to raise funds for mountain rescue and we wish them the very best for their final mountain, Ben Nevis in September.  Happy 1st Birthday in November Austin!
