Distinguished Service Award – David Tyson

Distinguished Service Award – David Tyson

09th April, 2021
We have recently presented David with a DSA for his contribution to Mountain Rescue in Scotland.
David joined Galloway Mountain Rescue Team in 1995 and for the last 25 years has been a dedicated operational team member and longstanding member of Galloway MRT committee.
David has pretty much held every role within the team over the years including Team Leader and Deputy Team Leader. Up until October 2020 he was the teams Secretary and now he is the Treasurer and a Trustee of GMRT.
He regularly volunteers to run the teams training sessions, firmly believing that the more knowledge and skills that he can pass on to our newer members, the better. He was involved in the early conversations with representatives from SARCALL and the work he carried out on the project contributed to the rollout of SARCALL throughout the SMR region.
David is a key member of the Galloway Mountain Rescue team. He always puts the needs of others before himself, giving his time and advice readily.
David, from us all at Scottish Mountain Rescue we THANK YOU for everything you have done and continue to do.
