In an emergency call 999 and ask for Police then Mountain Rescue
Hello, my name is Sam and I am 12 years old. I am really into hill walking, mountain biking and generally just love being outdoors. When I am outdoors, I need to make sure I have the correct food (and enough of it!) for the activity I am doing.
So, I have made a recipe/cookery book. I did this as part of the Junior Award Scheme for Schools (JASS). There are 4 sections altogether; “Get Active, Stay Active”, “Me and My World”, “Adventure” and “My Interests”. I chose to do cooking as “My Interest” and this developed into an idea to create a small recipe book for snacks and dinners for when I am camping or going hillwalking. I then thought it could be used to fundraise for Scottish Mountain Rescue.
“When I go hill walking with my dad we sometimes see the helicopters flying back and forth and I think it’s good to know that there are teams of brave volunteers out there helping people in the hills.”
Sam has set up a JustGiving page to raise money for Scottish Mountain Rescue https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Peter-Carus1 and for a minimum donation of £2 you can get a copy of Sam’s Homemade Recipe Book.
There are ten tempting recipes in Sam’s book including Cod and Chorizo Stew, Korean Noodles with Vegetables, Banana Loaf and Protein Pancakes.
